Seasonal Cleaning Series – Spring

Okay by now we’ve all seen the newest Netflix series that inspired us all to go through our homes and get rid of all the things that don’t “spark joy.” I know I can’t be alone here. Within two weeks we went through our whole garage, our pantry, kitchen cabinets and the closet in the baby’s room where we just threw all the extra stuff we didn’t want to look at after we moved. We haven’t gotten through the whole house yet, but we’re getting there. I’ve started converting my drawers over to the Konmarie Method of folding clothes and it truly is amazing how much more space I have in a once packed tight drawer. From the outside, it looks intimidating to dive into all your stuff and get rid of the things you have no reason for holding onto. However, it’s been SO refreshing. Cliche as it sounds, we feel lighter and 100% more organized.

All this said I thought while we’re in the spirit of all things organization and cleaning why not share my master list of cleaning. Yes, I am that person. I use a Trello card to organize this and check things off as we do them throughout the year. This will be a four-part series of posts walking you through each season of the year. Together we can tackle keeping our houses running like well-oiled machines.

I find this works the best (for me) if I sit down at the beginning of each month a pick a few things to tackle. Then from there, I will spread those tasks over the month week by week via my Google Cal by actually making an event with a reminder to do said task. Most of the tasks on my seasonal lists are jobs that do take a little planning to get done which is why I look ahead at our schedule.

Along with our seasonal lists, I have a daily, weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly list as well.
